Hello Liman, The Central Bank of Nigeria has announced the introduction of new ₦200, ₦500, and ₦1,000 notes effective December 15th, 2022, whilst existing naira notes will continue to be used until January 31st, 2023. As we prepare for the new banknotes, here are some things you should know: - All current ₦200, ₦500, and ₦1,000 notes must be deposited into your existing or new Alternative Finance account at any Sterling branch on or before January 31st, 2023, to keep the value.
- You can get the new ₦200, ₦500, and ₦1,000 notes from any Sterling branch or ATM from December 15th, 2022.
- You will not be charged for cash deposits on or before January 31st, 2023, and there is no limit to the amount that can be deposited.
- All cash deposits will be accepted into an active account with a valid BVN.
- Our branches will be open on Saturdays from the 12th of November 2022 until the deadline to help you deposit these notes.
